European Union (EU)

Origin: All items are shipped from within the EU
Delivery estimates:

• Stickers, Tiles and Bookmarks: 1–2 weeks
• Clothing: 2–7 business days

Customs & VAT:
No customs or import duties apply. VAT is included where applicable.

 

United Kingdom (UK)

Origin:

• Stickers, Bookmarks and Tiles: From the EU (Greece)
• Clothing: From the US or EU (depending on stock)

Delivery estimates:

• Stickers, Tiles & Bookmarks: 1–2 weeks
• Clothing: 2–7 business days

Customs & VAT:
Orders under £135 usually pass without extra charges. Orders over £135 may be subject to VAT and/or customs duties.

 

United States

Origin:

• Stickers etc.: From the EU (Greece)
• Clothing: Produced and shipped from within the US

Delivery estimates:

• Stickers, Bookmarks and Tiles: 2–4 weeks
• Clothing: 2–7 business days

Customs & VAT:

• Clothing is made and shipped within the US — so no customs fees apply.

There is currently a $800 USD de minimis threshold. This means:

• Orders under $800 typically won’t incur duties or taxes
• Orders over $800 may be charged import duties based on U.S. Customs rules

📦 Example: A $100 sticker order could be subject to ~$20 in import duties if the threshold changes.nRight now, you should be safe under $800 — but I’m keeping a close eye on the situation and will update if anything changes.

📌 Some states may charge local sales tax, collected at delivery by USPS

 

Canada

Origin:

• Stickers, Tiles & Bookmarks: Shipped from the EU (Greece)
• Clothing: Shipped from the US

• Stickers etc.: 3–4 weeks
• Clothing: 2–7 business days

Customs & VAT:
Canadian customs may charge GST, provincial sales tax and/or handling fees, even on smaller orders.
📌 These costs vary depending on your province, the origin of the goods, and whether they qualify for trade agreements like CETA or USMCA.

Sales Tax:
Some provinces apply HST or PST on imported goods. These are usually collected by the delivery provider (e.g. Canada Post).

 

Australia

Origin:

• Stickers, Tiles & Bookmarks: Shipped from the EU (Greece)
• Clothing: Shipped from the US
  

Delivery estimates:

• Stickers etc.: 3–4 weeks
• Clothing: 2–7 business days

Customs & VAT:
Orders over AU$1,000 may incur import duties (typically 5%) and GST (10%).
Even under this threshold, handling fees may apply.

Sales Tax:
GST is collected on most imported goods. Delivery providers (e.g. AusPost, DHL) may charge fees at customs.
📌 Clothing from the US and goods from the EU may be subject to these charges depending on value and content.

 

All Other Countries

Origin: From the EU (Greece) or nearest production partner (US or EU)

Delivery estimates: 2–5 weeks depending on destination and item

Customs & VAT:
Import duties, VAT or local handling fees may apply depending on your country’s policies. These are the buyer’s responsibility. Failure to pay customs charges may result in your parcel being returned. Reshipping costs will be at your expense.

 

📦 Tracking & Shipping Methods

Clothing Orders

• Always shipped with tracking
• Tracking details are emailed once your order is processed (2-5 business days)
• Clothing is shipped separately from other items and fulfilled from the US or EU, depending on your location.

Stickers, Bookmarks & Tiles

• All orders are set to tracked shipping by default
• If you prefer a more affordable option, you can manually select untracked shipping at checkout (only available for stickers, bookmarks and tiles)
• All tracked orders are registered and may require a signature upon delivery (this varies per country). If you are not home at the time of delivery, you are responsible for rescheduling or collecting your parcel.
• You’ll receive a Greek tracking number. Once the parcel leaves Greece, it is no longer tracked by the Greek postal system, but you can continue tracking it through your local postal provider (e.g. USPS, PostNL) after it clears customs.

 

🔒 Untracked Shipping Disclaimer

We offer Standard (untracked) shipping for stickers, bookmarks, and tiles as a low-cost alternative. However:

• You accept full responsibility in case of loss, delay, or non-delivery
• You agree to wait up to 5 weeks before a reshipment is considered
• If we resend your order, it will always be shipped with tracking
• Reshipping costs are the customer’s responsibility
• If multiple untracked orders fail to arrive, you may become ineligible for this option in future

💛 This option is offered as a gesture of trust and goodwill — and I kindly expect the same level of honesty in return.
🔔 Want peace of mind? Stick with tracked shipping — it’s the safest and default option.

 

🚚 Delays, Lost Parcels & Returns

All delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Delays may occur due to customs, postal efficiency, holidays or weather. We cannot be held responsible for such delays.

 

If Your Parcel Is Delayed or Missing

• First, check your tracking
• If there are no updates and the estimated window has passed, email mail@romancebookishthings.com — I’ll gladly help

If your parcel is marked delivered but you can’t find it:

• Ask neighbours, household members or building staff
• Check around your mailbox and entrance area
• Contact your local post office — they often hold packages for 1–2 days

📌 If the parcel is scanned as delivered, I can’t be held responsible for loss or theft. But if you contact me within 7 days, I’ll do my best to help.

If Your Parcel Is Returned

If your parcel is returned to me because:

• You weren’t home
• You didn’t pick it up or rescheduled delivery
• You refused delivery
• You didn’t pay customs charges

…then:

• We can resend it once you the order has arrived back and after the cover of new shipping cost
• Or, we can refund the item(s) cost (only for stickers, bookmarks or tiles)
• Shipping fees are non-refundable
